Heat in the Cold Food & Wine

What better way to heat things up as we get through the dreary months of late winter than to pair wines with spicy, soul-satisfying foods?! One taste of something laced with jalapenos, or chipotle, or horseradish, and we can imagine we are where it is sunny and warm. Joining us for this event is Larry Sombke of Larry’s Sauces. Larry’s Southwestern Ranchero and Chipotle Sauces are original recipes inspired by the foods he loved in Mexico and the American Southwest. Made with healthy all-natural ingredients, these delicious sauces will bring the flavors of the Southwest to your table in dishes as varied as huevos rancheros, chili, tacos, enchiladas, burritos, nachos, pulled pork, seafood, quesadillas, pork carnitas, and more. He has some really great recipes for Super Bowl Sunday, too. One taste and you are seriously hooked!
We will also have hot-pepper cheese from Harpersfield, the incredible hot plum and cranberry-horseradish chutneys from Beth’s Farm Kitchen, “hot” chocolates from Vasilow’s, and other spicy goodies. If you’ve been reluctant to pair spicy foods with wine, here’s your chance to see how well they can complement each other.
