Banned Books Week Kids’ Story Hour
Sun. Sep 28, 2008 at 1:00pm
Banned Books Week kicks off Saturday, September 27th. To celebrate, the Spotty Dog will have our usual informative display of books so good, you can’t believe anyone would ever ban them. We will also host a story-time and craft on Sunday, September 28th at 1:00 featuring one of the most banned and challenged children’s books of 2007, And Tango Makes Three, by Justin Richard & Peter Parnell. This endearing book tells the true story of two male penguins in the Central Park Zoo who raise a chick together and has been awarded The ASPCA Henry Bergh Children’s Book Award, established to honor books that promote the humane ethic of compassion and respect for all living things. What’s black and white and read all over? Our penguin-filled story hour!
