“Haldane of the Secret Service” starring Harry Houdini

“Haldane of the Secret Service” was filmed in 1921—the last scene was shot locally in Valatie—and was the final film for its star, the great eascape artist, Harry Houdini. It was last shown in the Valatie theater in 1923, during its first run. A brief pre-screen talk will be given by Dominic Lizzi, who will discuss the history of the film and how it came to be that Houdini chose Valatie as one of its shooting locations. Proceeds from this screening will be used to benefit the Valatie fire department and go toward the purchase of a new ladder firetruck for the community.
General admission is $5, and includes popcorn
