C-GCC Open House
Learn about academic options available at Columbia-Greene Community College.

The admissions office at Columbia-Greene Community College will hold its annual Open House for prospective students, parents and the community on Saturday, March 29, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Greenport campus.

Activities include iPod giveaways and door prizes.

Presentations will be given on most of the 47 degree and certificate program opportunities available at C-GCC. Participants can also attend sessions on financial aid, academic support services and student life, including information about clubs and athletics.

“The day will be filled with useful information for anyone interested in attending college,” said Joseph Watson, vice president and dean of students and enrollment management. “The sessions are modular, so people can move easily from one presentation to another.

“It’s an excellent opportunity to visit our beautiful campus and speak with experts in a wide range of fields.”

Participants can learn more about such programs as massage therapy, computer science, automotive technology, fine arts, education, business, criminal justice, computer security and forensics, and aviation, among others.

The event will be held in the Student Services Court, which is located in the Main Building.

The college is located on Route 23 in Greenport, one mile east of the Rip Van Winkle Bridge. Route 23 can be reached from Exit 21 of the New York State Thruway or the Hudson exit of the Taconic Parkway.
