Residential Pruning Workshop Series

In this three-session series, homeowners will learn the basics of why, when and how to prune their fruit bearing trees and plants to boost fruit production. Learn the best time to prune, the difference between dwarfing and invigoration cuts, tree evaluations, proper techniques, and much more. Each session will begin with an informative talk by our instructor Steven McKay, a retired Senior Extension Resource Educator who specialized in commercial fruits, and end with a field demonstration at Samascott’s. Participants will leave the series armed with resource materials to help them better manage their home garden. Participants are strongly encouraged to dress weather appropriately and wear sturdy, comfortable footwear.

Do you ever wonder what modern day Hiroshima or Nagasaki is like today following the Atomic Bomb attacks of 1945? Alan Via Hiking Presentation

The library welcomes Alan Via for a lecture and slideshow on hiking the Catskills in all four seasons. Mr. Via grew up in rural New York and is an Adirondack 46er and a Catskill 35er (learn more about what this is during his presentation!).
