Monoprinting Weekend Workshop

A monoprint is a one-of-a kind print. The process brings one into direct and instant dialog with the materials, giving rise to a sense of fluid change and excitement. Monoprinting is for any artist looking to break out of set patterns in their work or to keep their creative muscles limber. Using an Ettan etching press, we will explore direct drawing, the use of found and cut templates, embossing and ghost printing. We will use non-toxic oil based inks that clean up with soap and water. Lionel Popkin will teach a dance class in Skinner Releasing Technique which uses poetic imagery and hands-on tactile studies to facilitate a deeper kinesthetic experience of movement. The Printed Book

Make books filled with your own stories and images. Whether you are making a garden journal, diary, family album, or story book, creating your own books can be a perfect way to keep art-making in your daily life.
