In this three-session series, homeowners will learn the basics of why, when and how to prune their fruit bearing trees and plants to boost fruit production. Learn the best time to prune, the difference between dwarfing and invigoration cuts, tree evaluations, proper techniques, and much more. Each session will begin with an informative talk by our instructor Steven McKay, a retired Senior Extension Resource Educator who specialized in commercial fruits, and end with a field demonstration at Samascott’s. Participants will leave the series armed with resource materials to help them better manage their home garden. Participants are strongly encouraged to dress weather appropriately and wear sturdy, comfortable footwear.
