OKtoberfest 9/27: RSVP by 9/16!

The Library’s 5th Annual OKtoberfest will take place on Saturday, September 27, from 4-7pm in the library’s back yard. Last year we had over 170 people in attendance and raised over $5000 for the library. We’re hoping to grow those numbers this year and have some fun while we do, so join us! We’re excited for the return of our caterer, Georgia Ray’s Kitchen. Tickets for adults are $30 and include a meal full of delicious German delicacies. Each adult ticket also comes with two drink tickets and an entry into the door prize giveaway! Kids’ meals are available for $7. Please R.S.V.P. no later than September 16th!

Weekend Workshop: Monoprinting is for any artist looking to break out of set patterns in their work or to keep their creative muscles limber. Using an Ettan etching press, we will explore direct drawing, the use of found and cut templates, embossing and ghost printing. A monoprint is a one-of-a kind print. The process brings one into direct and instant dialog with the materials, giving rise to a sense of fluid change and excitement. We will use non-toxic oil based inks that clean up with soap and water. All skill levels welcomed. Faculty: Beth Thielen

The Chatham Agricultural Partnership (CAP) is hosting their sixth annual Farm Tour on Saturday, September 27, 2014.  New this year, local artists will be featured at each farm exhibiting and selling art they have created working in the tradition of the Hudson River School en plein air (outdoors) at the featured farms.
